First Carving Ever in 1978 Balsa. I Thought Balsa was easist wood to carve. IT ISN'T!!!
IT DOES NOT HOLD DETAIL. IT SPLINTERS EASILY AND IS VERY DIFFICULT.
Perhaps One carving per year though the years. Was using exacto knives and any wood I could get a hold of.
Did not take photos of them. Gave all away for presents.

Second Carving 1978 Bass Wood. Shoe Polish Finish.
A neighbor happened to carve and saw my first to the left. He told me about the dificulty with balsa.
He told me if I could do what I did in balsa, I could do good with bass wood. He gave me a piece of bass wood and a
pattern of the fisherman. This is the result.
